Question by Depressed Soul: HELP! ECZEMA RASH ON MY CHEEK (IMAGE INCLUDED), has anyone tried using California Baby's product with success? Ok, this is a bit long but it will only takes about 5 minutes of your time, I really need help on this problem, thank you! :( I recently have this eczema pimple lookalike, pinkish-red kind of itchy rash on my right cheek :( Image: http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/6934/rashhy6.jpg I really don't want to use back hydrocortisone or any other steroid creams anymore, because all these prescription creams has worsen the condition, causing my face sensitive to the sun as well. It's like, when I stop using it, the problem comes back again 3 weeks later, and the problem comes back even greater. I've been prescribed non-steroid cream as well, Elidel and Protopic. Protopic burned my skin, and Elidel gave m& #101; cough (it's proven it gives internal side effect). I've had bad experience with moisturizer cream that contains Petroleum, Mineral Oil, and Paraffin because all these ingredients actually form an oily film that sits on top of the skin, preventing moisture from evaporating. It has a drying effect, it actually suck out the moisture of your lips/skin, which is why you have to constantly reapplying it. I've just change my cleanser from "Cetaphil Gentle cleanser" to "California Baby Shampoo & Bodywash, Super Sensitive (can be used on face)". Because RECENTLY I did a research about this harmful chemical ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), it's actually cheap detergent that people used in car washes, as garage floor cleaners, and engine degreasers etc. After the research I looked at the back of the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser and DANG, it has SLS and another harmful ingredient called "Propylene Glycol". For Christ sake I've been using ; it for 4 years. :( So now I'm looking for an alternative way to deal with this problem because I really don't want to use back the stupid steroid cream or those moisturizer that comes with crappy ingredients. Also, I was reading this California Baby Calendula Cream review over this site, http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=54802&catid=26109&crpg=5&tab=1#1 The product was rated 4.5 out of 5 stars based on 44 users. 90% of them commented that the cream cleared off rash problems like cradle crap, eczema rash on face etc. Even some adults commented that they have facial eczema rash, perioral dermatitis, dry skin etc used this product and has worked wonders in healing their skin. So today I just started using the California Baby Super Sensitive wash for my face, and have applied the the California Baby Calendula Cream on my face. It somehow stop the itch a bit, but I am wondering how long it will take to clear off the rash. So has anyone of you tried using California Baby Calendua cream with success? Also, can moisturizing alone clear off the eczema facial rash? Or am I doomed to use steroid? Omg :( This is not a spam for christ sake! I posted here because this is a baby section and there's a possibility that mothers here could have tried using CB cream for their baby eczema or whatever rash! I wanna know how long it will take to clear the rash! If you're just going to post useless answer for the sake of the pathetic 2 points I suggest you just f*ck off. I don't mean to be rude b& #117;t it's people like you that pissed me off. All I need is suggestion and help, that's all I need. Best answer:

I think this is a very sophisticated method of spam! Perhaps you (or the company you're working for) should pay Yahoo! to advertise on this website.

You either need to talk to a dermatologist, or a publisher. I agree, justin. We are here to help, but the benefits aren't that good since they plugged the waterline hole in the girls' restroom wall.

Hi (firstly I don't think you're posting spam haha! That's silly!) I haven't used the CB cream you're talking about, but I'd say it's worth a try. I hate u sing the steroid cream too, but sometimes when my kids' excema got really bad and red, I would just use a DAB on them and the one time dab helped clear it up enough where the moisturizers became effective again. If I ever got lazy with the moisturizers, and they flared up again, it only took a litlte of the steroid to help it tremendously. I don't think the steriod & #105;s going to hurt your baby if you use it VERY sparingly here and there.

Sorry hun, maybe people misunderstood you, once I saw a picture up I knew you were more than likely serious. It just doesn't seem that bad in your pic, hmm you are right though. Products with mineral oil/petroleum also with SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate/or any sulfates) are not good really. They strip your skin of its natural moisture and are theorized to be supposedly carcinogenic. I really don't think any physician should have prescribed a steriod for eczema especially looking at your pic, its doesn't look to be on that level of severity. Also for my 4 month old when I had used steroid creme for her skin it dried her out unnaturally and mad her skin hard! I am not familiar with that product you mentioned and on my daughter's cheeks I used burt bees sensitive lotion, it worked for a while for her rash but her cheeks began to dry a little again. It did moisturize the rest of her body greatly! I use aquaphor on them now, its the only thing that works on her face but it does have mineral oil. For myself, because I'm very acne prone, I use black soap and a shea moisturizer/shea butter at night. You can be of any race to use it, and I have heard many state that it helped with their eczema. I myself never suffered from it but you can try a sample from their website. Word of caution the shea butter can be oily in the beginning so I just used the shea moisturizer for the first ; two weeks then eased the butter unto my chin, cheeks etc The website is www.nasabb.com. They are all natural products so you won't have to worry about any Sulfates or mineral oil/petroleum. No I don't work or endorse for money for these people LOL I just know what its like to severe skin issues and that using prescribed rx's have only made it worse, for me and my little girl anyways.
